Metacam (Meloxicam) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for use in dogs. It is indicated for the treatment of pain and inflammation as a result of acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders such as disco-spondylosis, arthropathy and soft tissue injuries. Provides relief of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis.
Initial dose:0.1 mg/lb (0.2 mg/kg). It is then decreased to 0.05 mg/lb (0.1 mg/kg) once a day. Meloxicam should only be prescribed to dogs by a Veterinarian.
1.5 mg/mL Oral Suspension Syringe marked in 5lb increments, for dosing convenience in larger dogs. When using the syringe, the dog's weight should be rounded down to the nearest 5lb. increment.
For dogs less than 5lbs (2.3 kg), Oral Suspension can be given using the dropper bottle: one drop for each pound of body weight for the 1.5 mg/mL concentration.
Available in 32 and 100mL dropper bottles with measuring syringe
Give as directed by your veterinarian. Metacam may be given with or without food. Keep plenty of water available for your pet. Store Metacam at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.
